Random musings on all things cinematical, and otherwise, by Joe Leydon.
As someone who has met Al Gore numerous times, I have to say that I think he is a man on a mission, a man who has found his calling. And that mission, that calling, is nothing less than saving the Earth. If Al becomes convinced that the best way to save our environment is by becoming President, he will run. If not, he won't.
If "An Inconvenient Truth" wins - and undoubtedly it will no matter how imperfect it is - will Gore actually get the statue?
Al Gore may not actually receive the award himself -- he's neiher the director nor a producer of the film. But he just might show up on Oscar night anyway. At least, that's what Mick LaSalle thinks.
